A Time To Be Born: Mother Celia Ann Moultrie Shider was born to the proud parents of the late Mr. William Moultrie Jr. and the late Pastor, Mother Mazie Moultrie on January 16, 1944.
A Time To Learn: She attended public schools in Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School in 1970. She was employed at JP Stevens and was a substitute teacher for Colleton County School District. Her passion for several years was working as a sales associate and assistant manager at Allied Department Stores.
A Time for Every Purpose Under the Heaven: Mother Shider accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Progressive Church of Jesus. She served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, President of the Missionary Department and later became one of the Mothers of the Church; where she served faithfully until her transition.
A Time To Love: On August 26, 1960 she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Reverend George O. Shider, Sr.
A Time To Be Blessed: To this union, four beautiful children were born: George Jr. “Poochie”, William “Kenny”, Tony and Mazie “Missy”.
A Time To Die: Mother Celia A. Shider made her heavenly transition on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
A Time To Mourn: She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, George Jr. (Brenda) Shider of Walterboro, SC; William Kenny (Carol) Shider of Yemassee, SC; Tony (Barbara) Shider of Walterboro, SC; and Mazie Shider-Sprague of Summerville, SC; Two step-sons, Greg Givens and Tremayne Shider. Two brothers, Charles D. Moultrie and Earl Moultrie; three sisters, her twin, Ethel (Carl) Ford, Daisy (Matthew) Blevins, Janet (Fred) Reed and four sisters-in-law, Caffey Moultrie, Sharon Moultrie, Betty Shider and Ollie Mae Todd; twenty-two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one (just like a brother) Danny Harrison, and best friends, Lula Smalls and Frances Herndon; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: loving husband of 56 years, Rev. George O. Shider Sr., siblings, Willie Mae, William Rogers, James, John, Harry and one daughter-in-law, Myra.
