Albert Jackson Williams Obituary

Mr. Albert Jackson Williams was born February 14, 1954, son the late Mr. Jeffery Singleton and Mrs.. Mary Williams Hadgood in Colleton County.

On June 26, 2024, God in his infinite wisdom quietly dispatched the death angel to NHC Healthcare, Charleston, South Carolina to personally escort the gentle spirit of Albert Jackson Williams to his home in glory.

He joined Elizabeth Church of Christ and served faithfully until his health failed.

Albert graduated from Colleton High School and joined the United States Marines Corps at Parris Island in 1972. He was stationed Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Camp Pendleton, CA and was deployed on navy ships as one of America’s long arms of action and deterrence around the world.

Albert married the love of his life, Betty Ann Williams of Cottageville, SC and to this union they was blessed with one daughter, Malekia N. Williams.

Albert was employed at Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center for many years. He loved his occupation which allowed him to help others. He literally never met a stranger and always strived to make every person he met laugh until their heart was content.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was his wife, Betty Ann Williams, his siblings, Diane Hadgood, Sharon Stokes and Georgiana White.He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his only daughter, Malekia N. (Monique) Williams of Cottageville, SC; four sisters, Patricia (Richard) Beaton of Walterboro, SC, Jessie Saxby of North Charleston, SC, Doris Hadgood of Manhattan, NY and Rita McQueen of Bronx, NY; three brothers, Reverend Louis (Jearline) Ford of Augusta, GA, Anthony Hadgood of Bronx, NY and Adam Hadgood of Bronx, NY; mother-in-law, Etta R. Williams of Cottageville, SC; two sisters-in-law, Jannette C. Green of Cottageville, SC, Aguster A. Williams of Washington, DC. He also leaves numerous aunts and uncles and also nieces and nephews.
