Billy Stephens was born on August 10th, 1950 in Ruffin, South Carolina to the late Elvena B. and Orlando Stephens.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother James Stephens. He departed this life on Sunday, August 6th, 2023.
At an early age Billy joined Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ruffin, South Carolina.
Billy attended the public schools in Ruffin, South Carolina and graduated from Walterboro High School in 1968.
Billy worked several jobs between South Carolina and Georgia. He worked at Colleton County Recycling Center until his passing.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife Lorraine Williams Stephens; his children, Horace Eric Kirkland Sr. (Tammie) of Savannah, GA, Leslie Wiggins, SC, Lisa Wiggins both of Ridgeville, SC, Dylane Stephens of Dallas, Texas, Antonio Stephens of Walterboro, SC, Ricardo Stephens, Marquita Bodison both of North Charleston, SC; two bonus children who he helped raise, Donna Grant of Walterboro, SC and Romarlo White of Columbia, SC; 25 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two brothers Charles (Lillie) Mitchell, John (Eva) Stephens both of Walterboro, SC; sisters, Peggy (David) DeLee, Mary (Weldon) Howard both of Walterboro, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
