Mr. Donnie Ellison was born on July 10, 1949, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Franklin Ellison and the late Mrs. Sue Barr Ellison.

He peacefully entered eternal rest on January 13, 2026, at Greenville Post Acute in Greenville, South Carolina.

Mr. Ellison was a graduate of Colleton High School in Colleton County. After completing his education, he proudly served his country by joining the United States Army, where he served

during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.

He was a longtime and faithful member of Rock of Ages CME Church in Walterboro, South Carolina, where he served in many capacities and offices throughout the years. His commitment to his church and community was steadfast and unwavering.

In July 1996, Mr. Ellison was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Mary F. Mitchell Bingley, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellison was preceded in death by two sisters, Marsha Ellison and Freda Martina; three brothers-in-law; and one father-in-law.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Mrs. Mary B. Ellison; his children: Regina, Jeffery, Karen, Howard Jr., Joyce, Jane Marie, and Mark; and the grandchildren he raised: Perry, Jameek, Ashley, Shanece, Keiosha, King Justin, King Justice, Katory, Malcolm, Jyrus, Markasha, Jadakiss, Destiny, Marianna, Fountaine, Hilary, Makayla, Ronald Jr., Miracle, McKenna, Howard III, Chante, and McKenzie. He is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Ellison; his mother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Donnie Ellison will be remembered for his service, faith, and devotion to his family, church, and community.
