Dorothy Gilliard was born April 14, 1937 to the late James leak and Frances Baskin Lovely of Cheraw, South Carolina and the late stepfather Joseph Lovely.

Dorothy Gilliard depart life on August 25, 2016 at her home in Accokeek, Maryland.

Dorothy was educated in the New York School System and worked as a corporate bill collector in New York for many years.

Dorothy met and married Lee Gilliard in 1971 in Bronx, NY, and later moved to New Jersey, and in 2005 moved to Maryland to enjoy retirement life.

Many fond memories will be shared by her husband, Lee Gilliard; her daughter, Robyn lovely-brown; sister, Joanlee Martin; nieces, Erin, Kimberly, and Joanlee; nephews, Richard, Steven and Kevin; mother-in-law, Kate Gilliard; brother-in-law, Cleveland Gilliard; stepson, Lee Gilliard Jr; stepdaughter-in-law, Joanne Townsend; nephew-in-law, David Cleveland Gilliard and Julian Jackson; nieces-in-law, Ogletha Fludd, Carol Jackson Powell and Patricia Fields and many great nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and well- wishers.
