Mrs. Henrietta W. Knowles, Entered eternal rest June 24, in Warrenton, Virginia.
Henrietta W. Knowles was born on December 1, 1935 to the late Cyril Sr. and Enid Maude Davis in Miami, Florida. She was the “baby girl” of seven siblings, Helena Mae, Henry, Earl, Ralph, Virginia, Cyril Jr. and Henrietta. Henrietta was a spoil little girl she was the apple of everyone’s eye especially her father.
Henrietta (Sister) as she was affectionately called, attended Miami Dade County Public Schools as a child. She enjoyed school. History was her favorite subject. Her big sister Helena would walk both she and little brother Cyril Jr. to school each day at Phylis Wheatley Elementary. She also attended Booker T. Washington for Middle school.
Henrietta later met and married the late, Mr. Fleming Williams and to that union five handsome sons were added: Stephen, Jimmy Lee, (deceased), Edwin (whom she called Anthony), Charles (deceased), and Richard (deceased). She worked hard and reared her sons to attend school and church.
As time went on, Henrietta wanted to further her education and become a Nurse. She attended a Nursing Training Center in Miami and earned her LPN. During this time she also met and married the late Eugene Knowles. They enjoyed their lives as man an wife for several years and finally moved to Carol City (now Miami Gardens). Upon moving to Carol City the Knowles joined New Way Fellowship Baptist Church over 40 years ago, She has been a faithful member until her passing.
Mrs. Knowles was a diligent employee for both Jackson Memorial Hospital and The Miami Jewish Home of Miami, Florida. She immensely enjoyed being a Nurse. Even up until she became ill.
Sis. Knowles also loved working in her church. She sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School and served in the “We Care Ministry”. Her favorite was also attending Noonday Prayer.
Mrs. Knowles most loved her family. She had the gracious opportunity to be a mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. She also stood in the gap for anyone who needed a mother or grandmother. She made sure to travel to see her dear sister in New York and son in Virginia as often as she could.
Henrietta knew the Lord and felt confident and knowing where her soul would be when God called her home. She fought a good fight. She was a true soldier. On Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 3:28 she took her last breath and fell into the arms of the Savior.
