Kenneth Edward George, affectionately known as “Kent” and “Bubba”, was born on July 30, 1947 to Charles and Grace George in Walterboro, SC. He transitioned from labor to reward on October 19, 2025. He was educated in the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School in 1965. After graduating high school, Kenneth served his country proudly in the United States Navy from July 12, 1965 to May 1981. He also served in the Vietnam War. At the completion of his service, Kenneth was employed with the following companies: Coastal Fruit Distributors, Kodak, and Reliable Janitorial Service.

He was married in holy matrimony to Patsy H. Mitchell, who preceded him in death. They shared one son. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Barbara G. Dinkins and Leatrice J. Wright.

At the time of his death, Kenneth was a member of New Life United Methodist Church in Walterboro, SC where he served faithfully and quietly on the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee (SPPRC).

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Artuban Mitchell (Bobbie) of Virginia Beach, VA; one daughter, Angela Williams (Anthony) of Walterboro, SC; 5 grandchildren; one sister, Pastor Sandra Winfield of Walterboro; one brother, Charles Stephen George (Maike) of Macon, Ga.; one aunt, Colette George of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two brothers–in-law, Rev. Larry Winfield(special life-long friend) of Walterboro, SC and Thomas Mitchell of Virginia Beach, VA; five sisters-in-law, nine nieces; four nephews; a special cousin that was more like a sister, Jackie McCarthy and a host of relatives and friends.

Kenneth George loved his family and never hesitated to let them and everyone else know it. His smile, laugh, and love will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him.
