Minister Vernon Cockrum son of the late Walter Cockrum and Ella Mae Sykes Cockrum was born May 28, 1961 in Walterboro, SC.  He departed this life July 19, 2024 at Emory Decatur Hospital in Decatur GA.  He attended Schools in Colleton County.  

Vernon became an ordained Deacon from Living Water Christian Church in Atlanta, GA.   

Minister Vernon was a man with many talents.  He owned a Lawncare Business “True Believers “N” Christ.  He drove the Sprinter Van delivering packages to different companies.  

The year 2014 was a big year for Minister Vernon.  He received his Certificate of License to be a Minister and  he became a Cubmaster for the Boy Scotts.  His true passion was speaking on God’s word through his Facebook page and his YouTube page.  He also loved cooking.  

He was married to Michelle Theresa Cockrum in 1995 to this union one child was born. Minister Vernon was a man with a humble spirit who loved to Praise God with everything he had.  He was a loving Husband , Father and Grandfather.  

He’s preceded in death by father: Walter Cockrum, Sr.; mother: Ella Mae Cockrum; brothers: Walter Cockrum, Jr and Anthony Cockrum; nephew: Antwan Sams.  

Those left to cherish fond and loving memories. His wife: Michelle Cockrum; son: Danzel Cockrum; daughter: Jurnell Washington; stepchildren: Jasmine Albright and Steven Albright; sisters: Olympia Cockrum Sams of Walterboro, SC and Betsy Tina Goldwire of Rincon, GA; aunts: Janie Vease Cockrum Beddard, Cleveland, OH, Adell Cockrum, Walterboro, SC, Estelle Cockrum, Walterboro, SC; sister-in-law: Denise Palmer-Cockrum; grandkids: Tierra Singleton, Hakeem Singleton, Jayla Ford, Calie Cockrum, Hunter Cockrum, Jaikena Givens, Markena Givens and Akeem Givens; great grandchildren: Jamarion Ferguson, Ryheem Ferguson, Jayceon Ferguson, Rylann Singleton, Kaniya Singleton, Kace Singleton along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
