Mr. Lester Koger Obituary

Lester Koger 85, departed this life at his residence on January 29, 2018 after an extended illness with his wife Betty who was his “Smokey” by his bedside.

Mr. Koger was born to Richard & Eliza Koger on November 25, 1932 in Colleton County community of Hendersonville SC.

At an early age he joined St James Holiness Church later in life in became a member of  Walterboro New Church of Christ Walterboro SC.

He was a hard working man who worked several jobs, with former Asten Hill Walterboro   being his last employer. He was a Master Butcher, Avid Fisherman and Gardner.

He was united in holy matrimony to Betty Youmans Koger, which their shared a home of love and hospitality, affectionately with family and friends for gatherings. Their are founder and owner of B & L Residential Care and B & L Rentals of Walterboro.

Mr. Koger was preceded in death by daughters; Deborah K Koger and Tamar K Pettis; siblings; James, Ashbury, Walter and Nathan Koger, Joyce Maxwell, Ada Lee Ferguson, Amelia and Letha Mae Bright.

He leaves to cherish a devoted and loving wife; Betty Koger; daughter, Brenda Koger (Ricky); Adoptive son, Robert Wiggins; devoted and loving niece, Barbara (Isaac) Bryant; Goddaughter Katrina Bowman; sisters, Alberta Clayton (William) and Gladys Cassidy; grandchildren, Eugene (Krystal), Shonna, Yolanda, Marcia, Natasha, Lamont and Ricky; several great grandchildren; Son-in-law, Eugene Ford; Brother-in-law, Elder Harry Bright; sister-in-law's, Letha Mae Hampton, Robertha Mitchell, Vernelle Sanders and Deborah Bowman and her devoted husband Lawrence Bowman; special and devoted cousin Thomas Lawton (Loretta) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
