Cha-cha McLucas Lawton was born August 26, 1961 to Dorothy May Wood and Alfred Walker in Newark, New Jersey.

Cha-cha graduated from Clinton Place High School in Newark NJ. Cha-Cha also met Cleroy Lawton in Newark, NJ and later he brought her to South Carolina. They were united in holy matrimony on October 30, 1989. A union for over 28 years until her passing.

Cha-cha worked for Huddle House for years until her health failed. One thing Cha-cha loved to do was take care of other people children and she always had room for you at her home.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Lonnie Randell grandmother, Beatrice McLucas and her favorite aunt, Ida McLucas, three brothers-in-law, Jr. Lorenzo and Glendale, two sisters-in-law, Gertrude and Myrtle.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Dorothy Randell of Walterboro, SC; husband, Cleroy Lawton of Walterboro, SC, daughters, Tasha (Leon) of Columbia, SC, Nicole (John) of Orangeburg, SC, Erica (Andy) of Walterboro, SC, India (Chris) of Walterboro, SC, Ranisha Jones and Salquan of  Georgia; step daughter, Marian McClurkin; two sisters, Bernadette (Victor) of Walterboro, SC and Beatrice Johnson of  Virginia Beach, VA; one brother Richard Randell of Walterboro, SC; three sisters-in-law, Helen Douglas, Margie Lawton and Rosa Sutter; seven grandchildren, Timmy, Alquanna, Treion, Maliya, Zion, and Jamyson; loving sisters, Luvenia Hodges of Smoaks, SC, and Amy Oliver of Walterboro, SC, adopted daughters, Tonya Miller, Shamarla Williams, Shaniquia Rutherford and Latoya O’Berry. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
