Constance Lanette Artis aka Lisa was born on January 21, 1960 to Mildred Artis and the late Chester Artis in Smithfield NC. The family relocated to Brooklyn NY in the early 1960's. She was an active member at St. Timothy Holy Church under the late pastor Mary Louise Spann.
Lisa as she was affectionately called received her education in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Bay Ridge H.S. She later attended New York City Technical College in Brooklyn NY. After college she worked various jobs including a dental Hygienist. She landed the job of her dreams in the early 1980's as an administrative assistant at Kings County Hospital. She was promoted several times throughout her career. She retired an Office Aid at Bellevue Hospital. After her retirement she moved to Walterboro SC where she worked for the Colleton County School system. Connie loved working with people. Wherever she was she left a lasting impression on anyone she came in contact with. She was very outspoken and would say whatever came to mind good or bad. You could not forget her, she was truly one of a kind.
On June 29, 2021 God called his child from her home in Walterboro. She leaves to cherish her memories: her Husband Issac Jones of Walterboro SC, her Mother Mildred Artis of Brooklyn NY,her Mother in-law Anna B Jones of Brooklyn NY,2 step-sons Rashawn and Ralik Jones of Georgia 3 Brothers Robert Williams(Sandra) of Crestview Fl. Vincent Artis of Sloatsburg NY, James Harrell(LaVonda) of Davenport Iowa, 3 sisters Cynthia Johnson (Abu-bakr) of Texas, Tonya Johnson(Todd) of Hustle Virginia, Dikeatta Holmes(Kamal) of Myrtle Beach SC. 1 sister in-law Valerie Jones, 1uncle, Edwin Artis two Aunts Elizabeth Artis and Inez Rock. 12 Nephews, 9 Nieces, 48 grand and great-grand -nieces and nephews. 3 God children whom she adored Robert Lagree, Qwanyel Cullins, and Dwayne Berry. Go on Lisa take your rest we loved you but God loved you best. We'll see you in heaven in the morning.
