Mrs. Letha Mae Koger Bright Obituary

Letha Mae Koger Bright was born May 21, 1940, in Hendersonville, South Carolina to the late Richard & Eliza Koger. She departed this life at her residence  June 3, 2017 after an extended illness.

At an early age, Mrs. Bright joined St. James Holiness Church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  In 1964, she married Henry H. Bright of Walterboro, SC, and to this union two children were born.

Mrs. Bright was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker the majority of her married life, but also worked various jobs over the years. Mrs. Bright was an excellent cook, so her family enjoyed many homemade dishes and desserts. Cross-stitch and flower arrangement were hobbies she enjoyed.  She also loved the outdoors and one of her favorite pastimes was fishing.

Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by her parents and siblings:  James Koger, Asbury Koger, Joyce Maxwell, Ada Lee Ferguson, Amelia Bright, Nathan Koger, and Walter Koger.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 53 years – Elder Henry H. Bright; daughters:  Juanita “Nancy” Bright-Ferguson of Jacksonville, FL and Leslie Ann Bright of Port Royal, SC; granddaughters:  Ashlei Brown of Walterboro, SC, Vinetta Ferguson of Orlando, FL, Shaneika Ferguson of St. Marys, GA; two great-grandchildren:  Zamaria & Zaiden; siblings:  Alberta (William) Clayton of Fayetteville, NC; Lester (Betty) Koger of Walterboro, SC; and Gladys Cassidy of Miami, FL.  Two “sons”:  Henry Brown and Vincent Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.
