Life Reflections

Reverend George Oliver Shider Sr. was born on August 24, 1939 in Cottageville, SC to the late Queenie Victoria Shider. He entered into Eternal bliss on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC.

He attended the public schools of Colleton County. For several years he worked as an auto body repairman and owned Liberty Body Shop.

On August 26, 1960 he was united in holy matrimony to Celia Ann Moultrie; and to this union, four children were born.

Rev. Shider joined St. John AME Church at an early age. He served under the leaderships of those in authority throughout the years. He later heard the call of ministry, and he was ordained as a Reverend under the leadership of Rev. Frank Moses. Rev. Shider also served as Assistant Pastor of St. John AME Church, until his health began to fail.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Celia.
